Overview
Custom Ports are non-default network ports manually configured for an application or service instead of the standard, well-known ports (e.g., HTTP 80, HTTPS 443). In SiteWALL, Custom Ports let you protect applications that listen on alternate ports while keeping policy, logging, and visibility consistent across your estate.
Common Examples
Protocol/Use Case | Default Port | Custom Port Example |
Web (HTTP) | 80 | 8080, 8888 |
Web (HTTPS/TLS) | 443 | 8443 |
Admin / Console | varies | 9000, 9443 |
API / Microservice | varies | 7001, 5005 |
Accessing Custom Ports
1. Login to the SiteWALL Management Portal.
2. Navigate to Configuration → Custom Ports to view the list of configured ports per application.
Custom Ports are configured by the SiteWALL Support team to ensure correct routing, health checks, and security policy mapping.
Steps
o Application Name (as it appears in SiteWALL)
o Port Number (single port per request; include protocol note if relevant, e.g., TLS termination)
2. Support will configure the Custom Port in the WAF for your application and confirm back once active.
Service Level Notes
· Configuration typically includes listener mapping, policy inheritance from the application, and logging alignment.
· If multiple ports are required, list each port on separate lines for clarity.
